The Drawing Room

Following the refurbishment of our resident’s lounge, we are all excited to showcase ‘The Drawing Room’. This new addition to the Cuillin Hills’ repertoire is an expression of our new modern take on classic country house good taste and unveils the exciting direction in which we are traveling.

The walls shimmer in burnished copper, with scarlet floral motifs, a modern interpretation of tweed is re-enacted on a red aximinster carpet, and the lighting brings together brass Victoriana with enamelled cubism. The magnificent carved overmantle still stands above the log fire, the furniture still beckons with familiar comfort and the integrity of the lounge’s former atmosphere has been retained – if not enhanced.

But the crowning glory of the view across the bay of Portree towards the Cuillin Hills is now centre stage with a linear curtain treatment of bronze and scarlet – no swags and fuss to ruin the view, just a framing of nature in velvet.

The Drawing Room is a place to be inspired, a comfort in which to enjoy our hospitality, or a means to enjoy the finer life – it will be many things to many people. But one thing is for certain – it is part of the renaissance of the Cuillin Hills Hotel.

The Drawing Room is open through out the day and is an ideal retreat for a coffee or tea, as supplied by the Edinburgh Tea and Coffee Company; or a bracing Malt or glass of wine.
