The Scottish Hotel Awards is a uniquely comprehensive national program, updated for 2010 with an all new guide and revised categories, combining information from inspectors, interviews, consumer feedback and nominations, industry intelligence and critic analysis.

These awards recognise specific excellence - business and individual - across the array of skills that make up the unique business that is the Scottish Hotel Industry - such a vital industry to our nation. Few areas of enterprise are so varied in their demands for excellence, hence the wide nature of these awards.
At the 2010 Awards the Cuillin Hills Hotel was recognised for all the work and upgrading that has taken place over the last 2 years. The stunning new 'The View' Seafood SeeART Restaurant collected a Gold Medal for its interior design as well as achieving a nomination in the Turnaround Achievement Category for the new menu direction and award winning food being prepared by Chris Donaldson, our Head Chef, and his team.
Further design recognition came with the Hotel's website collecting an award - its ease of use, simplicity of design and friendly content being mentioned, along with Molly's 'Travels with a Terrier' Page.
Triumph came when the Cuillin Brasserie and Malt Embassy, combined, won the coveted Bar of the Year 2010. The stylish decor, inspired informal menu, stunning panorama of the Cuillins and the world class collection of Malts persuaded the judging panel that The Cuillin Brasserie and Malt Embassy was THE Bar in the whole of Scotland - another great reason to visit the Isle of Skye.
Personal success was also rewarded as Peter, our General Manager, collected the Manager Gold Medal 2010 quickly followed by THE surprise of the evening as Molly fought off all opposition to be crowned 'Scottish Hotel Dog of the Year'.

Our sister hotel - Kincraig Castle Hotel also received recognition when its Manager, Anne MacDonald, collected a Dame of Hospitality Award. This was an Award that reflects Anne's contribution to Hospitality over her working life and was well deserved. Dame Anne, we salute you.
