At the Cuillin Hills Hotel we have gone above and beyond to ensure our guests feel safe and that our facilities allow your trip to feel as “normal” as possible. We have always held an impeccable reputation for high standards of cleanliness, however, now more than ever we have tightened our policies to provide an even higher standard. The idea behind this booklet is to provide you, our guest with information to put your mind and ease knowing we have everything under control.  We have many guests of different ages, continents visiting us every year and we have gotten to know many on personal levels, which we love. We are aware different people enjoy different things, which has brought us to our first point of call. Choice. We think its incredibility important that our guests choose for themselves how they enjoy their stay, for some it may be a contactless visit, avoiding staff and other guests, enjoying their own company and relaxing  but some prefer to make their stay an experience, looking for our special touches, to relax, mingle with our smiley staff and enjoy Scottish hospitality at its finest.


We are delighted to be able to offer each guest options. We don’t want to take away the little touches that may affect guests experience and make us who we are, so instead we have found alternatives and tweeked our usual ways to be more “covid secure” without losing any of our Cuillin Hills charm.


You’ll be happy to know, you can still be greeted by our lovely reception team who will welcome you with a smile. A screen has been put in place to protect our guests and staff while checking in/out, along with foot markings and some detailed guidance and hand sanitiser.

Contactless Check in

The first choice our guest will have is how to check in.


Self-Check in Kiosk

A self-service check in desk is positioned by the front door as you enter the hotel. There will be a sanitiser station provided to clean your hands before and after usage. Using the iPad provided you can check in hassle/contact free.

We have ensured it is incredibly easy and fast to use. Don’t worry, there is always someone close by to help should you get stuck!

No matter how you choose to check in, there will be no contact for handing over keys. Keys will be sanitised and placed in your room for your arrival along with a disposable booklet about your stay and reminding you of the precautions we are taking.


We are going above and beyond to ensure all areas of the hotel are sparkling clean.

Our housekeeping staff will be dressed in full PPE before entering bedrooms and public spaces. We have taken the time to research all the government recommended cleaning products and they are what we will use in each area of the hotel. Each bedroom will have a sticker on the door to show it has been cleaned along with a signature of the housekeeper, manager, and time it was checked. To avoid contact, unless you request a service our housekeeping staff will not enter your room.


Throughout the entire hotel (including corridors and public areas) we have set up electronic hand sanitising stations.

Along with our already strict measures, we have introduced a new fogging machine which will be used every 5 days in all bedrooms and common areas killing 99.999% of all viruses and bacteria..

Food and Beverage

Much like with check in, some people will want a contactless meal while others want dining to feel as normal as possible. We hope to have something that suit everyone.

Upon check in you will be advised to book dinner (highly recommended to secure a time convenient for you) Again, we have options to suit you and your preferences.

Dining room

Our goal is to make our dining room experience feel relaxed and “normal”. We have removed several tables and positioned them 2m apart. You will be given the option of table service of ordering via our APP. Either way, all food and drink will be brought to your table by our waiting staff in appropriate PPE.

Room Service

We now offer free room service for all guests. You can order via our app or call reception who will process it for you. When ready, your order will be delivered directly to your door. All you have to do is, sit back, enjoy the view and wait for the knock!


At the Cuillin Hills Hotel, the safety of our staff is very important to us. Along with numerous new risk assessments and policies

All our staff will be temperature checked on arrival before shift. Visors and face masks will be mandatory with gloves being used to handle cutlery/crockery/used plates/guests’ luggage.

Final Peace of Mind

We are very excited to reopen our doors to our returning guests and to meet new guests from near and far. But please, step through our door with the peace of mind that we have everything under control and that your safety and general experience is our top priority. We pride ourselves on giving guests an experience they will remember, leaving with brilliant memories and eager to return.
